The Great Nebula in Orion, M42

The mosaic was made from 9 separate frames covering the regions of M42,

M43 and NGC1973-7. Individual frames were imaged with a 12.5" RC at

F7.5 using two different CCD cameras (ST8 and IMG1024).

Over 1000 subexposures (30 seconds each) were needed to complete the

entire image. Assembly of the mosaic was performed in Adobe Photoshop.

The project began in February 2002 and was completed in December 2002.
